A gardener’s idea of gold dust – home produced, slow matured compost (snail not included). My last bucketful of this batch has gone to some clients’ roses, now I need to investigate what is cooking in the enormous compost bin I have inherited in the corner of the garden. I am pretty sure it is mainly leaf mould and farmyard manure – plus all the food waste, and cuttings I have recently added. Photos soon.
Crocosmia, August 2015
This crocosmia has never really flourished in this shady corner. After flowering I will divide the rhizomes, and move some of them to a sunnier spot, and some are promised to clients. I will dig in organic matter around the base of the remaining plants to improve the soil and provide a nutrient boost.
