I have the RHS Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture from Capel Manor College (Regents Park) which is the national standard qualification for professional gardeners. I have been working as a self-employed gardener for four years now, and ensure I am constantly learning and improving my plants and soil knowledge, and horticultural practice.
In Autumn 2017 I took a short practical course in garden design at the City Lit, tutored by Patrick Featherstone. Since then I have been actively learning from other designers and landscapers, plus relevant publications and trade shows. I am currently undertaking design drawings and planting plans for various clients. In January 2019 I started the three year Diploma in Garden Design at Capel Manor (one day a week) which covers all aspects of design, drawing, landscaping and planting design, as well as some garden history.
Registered as Professional Operative with DEFRA/APHA 15 January 2020, in line with recent regulations for anyone growing, selling or handling plants. Registration number: 130260.
Finally, I have combined my love of both plants and art by completing two short courses on botanical illustration. My botanical watercolours are currently available from The Hill Trader store, The Hill Station Cafe, Kitto Road, London SE14. I will also be trading at the Solo Craft Fair, Balham Bowls Club on 07/03/2020, and Art@57, Northcross Rd, East Dulwich on 21/03/2020.
